My kingdom for my Broom!

UPDATE: Broom is now home safe and sound, the chickens where holding it hostage in the hen house, maybe as a sign I need to clean it out, anyway I am off to give my broom a good bath:)

Someone ran off with my broom, I am so very, very much not kidding either. We searched for hours, inside, outside and everywhere else. Considering the very close relationship I have with my broom you can imagine how very upset I am and yes I know I can go get a new broom but I want my old broom back. If you have my broom, please, please return it, I love and miss it. Please.

“I shall call him Squishy. And he shall be mine. And he shall be MY Squishy.”

Are you a purist in your literature? Do you cringe when a beloved text is adapted for the stage or screen? Do you rant for hours with friends or to yourself about the left out parts that were utterly essential to the storyline, or the horrid parts they put in just because?

I can think of a few movies off the top of my head that I could have thrilling debates over that where adapted from a book, most recently Harry Potter, I can’t leave out Lord of the Rings, a personal favorite is the A&E version of Pride and Prejudice, the many, many adaptions of King Arthur (Camelot, Merlin, Mists of Avalon etc.) or how about Twilight? That is one I have yet to watch all the way through.  I have read a lot of books, I love to read, but I also find it entertaining to see another take on the story sometimes, but only sometimes, I confess I do occasionally become very annoyed with certain adaptions:)

I love the post title quote from and I know I don’t really even have to tell you, Nemo!

Break time over!

Completely Uninspired Post Title/Very random/Oh ya, Happy Fathers Day!

I really wanted to write “Rain, rain go away” but that is getting old in more ways then one. In case you don’t believe me it is supposed to rain all the rest of this week, it rained all of last week, it rained most of the week before that, I am growing a tad paranoid and looking for the Jonah aboard this particular state. Get out. Move somewhere dry, they can seriously use your special talent.

Ugh I have been seriously sick this last week and today in an attempt to speak again again, I am choking down this herbal tea Cindy gave me, after adding about a half a cup honey, I now know that this stuff just might work, only nasty, disgusting, foul, gross and horrible medicines ever work and even honey doesn’t make it any better.  If I had courage I’d go brew another cup.

Let me explain something, I have had requests recently to shoot a couple of weddings, I have of course thanked them for the opportunity and that I was very flattered they thought of me and then I referred them elsewhere. When you shoot a wedding, there are many things involved most people aren’t aware of, blood pressure medication for one, the fact that despite going over your equipment a thousand times, your main flunks out and you grab your second only to later realize it was iso 1600 the whole time, you forget the shot the bride wanted more then anything, you forget the shot the mother in law wanted more then anything and oh how I could go on and on. I am very terrified of weddings. Just can never ever, ever see myself doing them. Besides they have a tendency to be time consuming and I love shooting kids too much to spend all my time shooting something I don’t love.

That mini rant is over, sorry I had to get that off my chest, it was begging to be typed out.

Meet Marble, newest member of our smallish herd.

Oh the Drama

Hmm, my title really says it all.

Boy’s room, not done.

House, messy.

Me, sick.

Weather, rainy.

I am happy, are you?

Maybe it goes something like this:

Here is a little song I wrote
You might want to sing it note for note
Don’t worry be happy
In every life we have some trouble
When you worry you make it double
Don’t worry, be happy……

Bob Marley anyone?

Oh death, slow, oh how slow you come to me, torture me no longer!

Everyone here is sick, well actually seems people are feeling better today, except me.

I have gotten myself into a project, that was supposed to be one or maybe two days and of course like all projects has found a way to extend itself for oh three or four days:)

Painting the boys room today, did the trim work yesterday. There new beds are built and ready to be moved in as soon as the paint dries.

The kids summer school books have arrived, they wanted to start this week, but there is just no way. I am so full up and busy this week I just can’t do it, after I am done with the boy’s room we have to install a cabinet for my new counter and the list goes on and on. Given that I have to live in this place for another year and a half there are just things that have to be done and done while the sun  is shining:)

A list of things that I hate about mobile homes:

  • Popcorn ceilings (EVIL)
  • Upper cabinets
  • Dark, windowless kitchens
  • Popcorn ceilings (Evil)
  • Carpet in Dining Rooms
  • The mentally challenged who install electric wiring in mobile homes.
  • They ugly 1970’s wallpaper they still put in trailers, where do they find this stuff?
  • They layout of every trailer, everywhere, but most especially the ones with the kitchens in the middle!
  • Popcorn ceilings (EVIL)

I feel better:) Back to work!

Rain, rain go away……

Wait haven’t I written this post before?

I will concede that Summer, according to the calender, has not yet begun, indeed my children still have one more day of school and the swimming pool is not even up yet. The weather is unusually wet and chill for this time of year and I don’t mind that much, after all who wants to be so hot they feel the overwhelming need to get wet? But for the children’s sake and maybe my sanity I would appreciate warmer days and less rain.

I like Sundays.
